Meal plan: Week starting 31 August

Monday: Creamy chicken and brown rice soup adapted with cashews (instead of almonds), failsafe veggies and FS vegetable stock paste

Tuesday: Beef mince and pasta with no-mato sauce, with steamed green beans

Wednesday: Lamb chops and choko mash; Sprinkle biscuits for school cake stall (Slice And Bake biscuits from The Failsafe Cookbook, with added Hoppers sprinkles)

Thursday: Roast vegetable and lentil soup with homemade bread rolls

Friday: Homemade burgers: beef patties with shallots and choko, iceberg lettuce, sliced beetroot (check ingredients carefully) and potato wedges

Saturday: Steamed chicken and veggies with potato and leek soup (Chicken veloute meal from Thermomix’s “The Basic Cookbook” using brushed potatoes, FS oil, leeks instead of onions, and leaving out the mustard in the sauce)

Sunday: Indian style lamb with leeks and potatoes from The Failsafe Cookbook, with rice, green beans and pear ketchup and leftover green salad
